Re: CBI Eligibility Requirement

CBI stands for Central Bureau of Investigation. One can join CBI as Sub-Inspector (SI) through Staff Selection Commission (SSC) combined exam and CGL exam conducted by UPSC. CBI is a specialized wing in many state police forces in India.

Other branches of the CBI are
State Crime Investigation Bureau
Finger Print Bureau
Scientific Section

To join in CBI you need to write the exam conducted by UPSC or Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) which recruits Police personnel through the Civil Services Examination in three levels:
IPS cadre
State Public Service Commissions
District Police Headquarters


The Required Qualification to join CBI are :--

The Candidates must have following eligibility criteria to join CBI:

If you want to become a CBI you need to pass in the CGPE Exam CGPE - Combined Graduate Preliminary Exam. This Exam was conducted by SSC Board.

You need to be citizen of India

You need to complete your Undergraduate degree in any Discipline

Your Minimum Age limit is 20years of age

Maximum age limit for general Candidate is 27years of age

Maximum age limit for OBC Candidate is 30years of age

Maximum age limit for SC/ST Candidate is 33years of age

Physical Requirements:
Height:
For Men: 165 cms.
For Women: 150 cms.
Chest:
For Men: 76 cms.
No such requirement for female candidates.
Vision:
Distance vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in another eye.
Nearby vision 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in another eye
