About

CAT stands for Common Admission Test.

It is conducted by the six IIMs as a national level entrance test in selecting students for their business administration program at the Masters level.

Activities Timelines

Release of Advertisement July 2016 (Sunday)

Online Registration for CAT 06th August to 25th September 2016

Admit Card Download Window 15th October 2016, 1:00 PM till Exam Date

CAT Exam Test Date 29th November 2016 (Sunday)

Results Declaration Second week of January 2017

CAT 2016 Pattern:-

Duration of the examination has been enhanced to 180 minutes instead of 170 minutes.

There will be three sections ,
‘Quantitative Aptitude (QA)’,
‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)’
And Verbal and Reading Comprehens ion (VRC)’.

QA and VRC will have 34 questions each, and DILR will have 32 questions.

Some questions in each section can not be of multiple choice type.

Instead, direct answers are to be typed on the screen.

The scoring scheme for multiple-choice questions is as follows:

Each correct answer is awarded 3 marks.
An incorrect answer fetches -1.
No marks are given or deducted for un-attempted questions.
