After the completion of BDS, candidates can go for the postgraduate courses include: MDS (Masters of Dental Surgery) Operative Dentistry and Endodontics Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology Orthodontics Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry Periodontics Prosthodontics. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Dentistry Community Dentistry Job Types Consultant Dental Lab Technician / Ceramist Forensics Oral Pathologist Medical Representative / Sales Representative Private Practitioners Public Health Specialists Professors Dental Assistant Dental Hygienist Dental Surgeon Employment Areas Dental Clinics Hospitals Pharmaceutical Companies Private Practice Research Institutes Dental Equipment Manufacturers Dental Products Manufacturers Educational Institutes BDS graduates are not eligible for the ENT Specialization. To Pursue ENT, applicants should possess MBBS degree from any university recognized by Medical Council of India. |

After the completion of BDS Course applicants can get following job options . Consultant Dental Surgeon Dental Lab Technician / Ceramist Forensics Oral Pathologist Medical Representative / Sales Representative Private Practitioners Public Health Specialists Professors Dental Assistant Dental Hygienist Employment Areas Dental Products Manufacturers Educational Institutes Dental Clinics Dental Equipment Manufacturers Hospitals Pharmaceutical Companies Private Practice Research Institutes Remuneration: - As in private hospitals per month it could be around Rs. 3,500 – 4,000. Graduates working as a trainee in government hospital can earn initial salary of around Rs. 6000 every month with allowances. Post-graduate professionals can earn around Rs. 7,000 upwards. A dental surgeon can earn good amount of money by their own practice. A A well experienced dentist can earn around Rs 30,000 to Rs 1, 00,000 or more per month. A consultant charges from Rs 250 onwards for cosmetic filling or routine check-up. This may increase up to Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 depending upon the nature of the dental problem.
