Can you tell me about the career prospects in Defense Services for a B.E. (IT) pass out student as my Brother wants to join Defense?

Among all the professions, a career in the Defense is considered as the noblest. There are two ways of getting into the defense forces either through the National Defence Academy Examination ( NDA Exam ) or Combined Defence Services Exam ( CDSE ).

As you have completed engineering, you are eligible for the Naval Academy and Air Force Academy along with the IMA.

IMA requires the candidate to have completed their Degree program in any stream.

Naval Academy recruits candidates holding B Sc degree with physics and Maths or a degree in engineering.

The Air Force Academy employs candidates who have a degree in engineering or a degree with Physics and Maths in 12th Class.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. The eligible age for the exam is as follows
IMA- 19-24 years
Naval Academy- 19-22 years
Air Force Academy- 19-23 years.

2. Marital Status
Single

3. Nationality
Indian

4. Gender
This is applicable to both men and women.

5. Educational Qualifications
1. First Class Graduation with min 60% aggregate marks in any discipline (Three Years Course) with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

2. First Class with min 60 % aggregate marks BE/ B Tech (Four years).

3. Final Year students can also apply, provided they do not have any backlog and min 60 % aggregate marks in the previous year/ semester.

Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality:
A candidates must either be:
(i) a Citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iii) a subject of Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee

Qualification:

To join I.M.A and Officers Training Academy:
Candidate should have degree of a recognized University or equivalent.


To join Indian Naval Academy:
Candidate should have degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Istitution.


To Air Force Academy:
Candidate should have degree of a recognized University or Bachelor of Engineering.

Age Limit:

I.M.A:
The age should be between 19 to 25 years..

Indian Naval Academy:
The age should be between 19 to 24 years.

Air Force Academy:
20-24 years
