What are the admission dates for Non GATE qualified candidates for admission in ME courses at BIT Mesra???

Application forms to the M.Tech/M.E courses at the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra are available in month of April

BITS Mesra M.E /M.Tech Admissions 2014 Important Dates:

Application forms available on webpage from April 23, 2014
Last date for receipt of completed application: June 16, 2014
Date for Test and Counselling / Interviews: July 7-12, 2014

Non-GATE candidates will be considered only after applicants who have qualified in GATE have been considered, interviewed.

BITS Mesra M.E Admissions 2014 Eligibility:
- Must have passed B.E. / B.Tech / AMIE or equivalent degree in the appropriate disciplines /Branches with not less than 60% mark in average (45% for SC/ST) in graduation.
- You should preferably be GATE qualified.

BIT Mesra Interview / counselling scheduled and admission for the above programs was done in the last week of the July, 2015

At present no admissions are going on for both Non GATE and GATE applicants


Tentative dates

Admission and counselling will start in the last week of the July, 2016

BIT Mesra written tests ( wherever applicable ) and counselling / interviews of eligible candidates will held tentatively in the last week of the June, 2016

Instructions for the Non – GATE Applicants

Provisional selections of Non – GATE candidates will be on the basis of

Written test,

Previous academic record and

Personal interviews / counselling,

The candidates fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned can apply

The admission will be considered only after applicants who have qualified in GATE
have been considered and admitted, subject to the availability of seats.

There will be no scholarships for these candidates.

Syllabus of the test will be same as for GATE.

Provisional selection lists, along with procedures for admissions, will be notified the day after the interviews / counselling, on the Institute website and Notice Boards of the Institute / its other concerned Campus only.
