Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya is a Central University located in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, India. It is one of the largest and oldest institution of higher education of Chhattisgarh.

The Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya is a Central University established by an Act 2009 of the Parliament.

The university was originally established as State University by an Act of State Legislative Assembly of the then undivided Madhya Pradesh on 16 June 1983.

The GGV is an active member of the Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth University.
