Both IAS and IES entrance examination are conducted by the UPSC, and sorry to say you but you are eligible for only IAS examination after completing Computer Science Engineering. To be eligible for the IES examination the applicant should have completed engineering in one of following branches:

Mechanical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Civil Engineering

Electronics and Communication Engineering

So here I am giving you the details of IAS Civil Services Examination, which is conducted by the UPSC (union public service commission).

Nationality:

A candidate must be a citizen of:

A citizen of India, or

A subject of Nepal, or

A subject of Bhutan, or

A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Required qualification:

The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India

Age Limits

Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August

I have done B.Tech in CS and now I want to apply for Government exams so please tell me which will be better for me IAS or IES?

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service

IES stands for Indian Engineering Service

For both of them you will be required to give exam conducted by UPSC.

Here I am giving you the details about both the exams

IES:
Qualification :-

Must have Bachelor degree in engineering from recognized university in following Streams
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering

So, According to these streams you have no chances to appear for this examination.
Because you have completed graduation in computer science engineering

So that you are not eligible to appear for this examination

I.A.S :-Indian Administrative Service
Education Qualification :-

Candidate must have graduation degree from recognized University or equivalent qualification.

Age limits :-
Age should be between 21 years to 30 years

Main
Personal Interview
