Re: Best Way To Prepare For NTSE

National Talent Search Scheme started in the year 1963. The purpose of the scheme is to identify talented students and nurture them.

This year NCERT will conduct the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) in coordination with states for students studying in Class X.

Best Way To Prepare For NTSE

Exam related tips for NTSE Stage-1:

Dont panic a day before the test. Better, dont do anything on that day. Relax. (I know saying this is easy, but doing this is tough but let me just hope that at least a fraction of my readers follow this).
Start from the section in which you are the strongest. Youll automatically have more time for your weak points.
Eat light before the exam, but please do have something nutritious and filling.
Dont discuss anything with your friends in the break between the two tests (MAT and SAT). Take a walk within the exam center or have a light snack instead.

NTSE Examination Pattern

The pattern of written examination for Class X will be as follows:

Stage I & II : Examination at the State/UT level will comprise three papers i.e

Papers Test No of questions marks Duration
Paper-I Mental Ability Test (MAT) 50 50 45 minutes
Paper-II Language test (LT)
English/Hindi 50 50 45 minutes
Paper-III Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) 100 100 90 minutes

At Stage-II (National Level) Exam, there will be negative marking in each paper. For each wrong answer 1/3rd marks will be deducted. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.
