Sorry to say that being B.Tech final year B.Tech ECE Student you are not eligible for the IES Exam .

IES Exam Eligibility

A candidate must have an Engineering degree from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central Government or State Legislature in India.

The candidates must either be an Indian Citizen

The minimum age attained by the candidate is 21 years and the candidate must not be more than 30 years.

The candidate must fall in the age bracket of 21 to 30 years on 1st August of the year of examination.

The upper age limit is 30 but is relaxed in case of Government servants and has been increased to 35 years

IES Exam Paper Pattern
The entrance for Indian Engineering Service comprises of a Written Exam (section I and II) and an Interview. The details follow:

One Engineering Discipline should be chosen from the following categories:
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
The written examination will comprise two sections:
Section I - objective types questions
Section II – conventional (essay) type questions papers.
Both Sections will cover the entire syllabus of the relevant engineering subject.

Interview for Personality test of selected candidates: 200marks

General (but important) instructions

All Question Papers must be Answered in English. Question Papers will be set in English only.
Candidates must write the papers themselves. They will not be allowed a scribe to write the answer for them under "any circumstances".
Points (upto 5%) may be deducted from the total points of a candidate if his/her handwriting is not easily legible.
Put in a serious and sincere effort.
Marks are not allotted for mere superficial knowledge. Orderly, effective and exact expression combined with due economy of words will be rewarded.
SI units will be used in the papers and Candidates should use only International form of Indian numerals (i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc.) while answering question papers.
The Commission have discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.
The Objective Type papers will be evaluated first and evaluation of the Conventional Type papers is done only for those candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in Objective types papers, as fixed by the Commission.

I am a Final Year B.Tech ECE Student and interested in giving Indian Engineering Service entrance Exam . Am I eligible for IES Exam or not ?

Sorry to say that being Final Year B.Tech ECE Student you are not eligible to appear in IES Exam .

IES Exam taken by the UPSC for recruitment of engineers in the Engineering Services of the Government of India.

Categories of which recruitment is made through the Examination

i. Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering

ii. Mechanical Engineering

iii. Electrical Engineering

iv. Civil Engineering

Eligibility Criteria:
Students must have Obtained a degree/diploma in engineering from a recognized University .

Students must be an Indian.

Students age must be between 21 and 30 years

Important Dates :
Date of Notification:- 14.03.2015

Last date for receipt of applications:- 10.04.2015

Date of commencement of Examination:- 12.06.2015

Duration of the Exam:- 3 DAYS.
