Hi I would like to have a brief about the career graph of the new Chief Technology Officer of Barclays Bank?

Barclays Bank appointed Commonwealth Bank of Australia CIO Mr. Michael Harte to take over as chief operations and technology officer.

Mr. Harte will replace the outgoing COO and CTO Mr. Shaygan Kheradpir, who had announced his departure to join Juniper Networks as CEO.

Mr. Harte joined the Commonwealth Bank in 2006 as group executive of enterprise IT, with responsibilities for retail as well as institutional banking systems across the group, including operations, brokerage, wealth and asset management systems.

He also led a major six-year programme to replace the bank's inheritance core banking system, and has a been an campaigner of cloud computing in the financial services industry.

Before joining the Commonwealth Bank, Mr. Harte was CIO at PNC Financial Services, and vice president, for information technology at Citigroup.
