There is an entrance exam for admission in the courses like MBBS, BDS, BAMS and BHMS. PMET enables the Applicant to take admission in the Medical Colleges in the Punjab University and other attached Medical College in the state both Private and Govt.-aided colleges of Punjab

Eligibility Criteria for PMET

a) Applicant must be an Indian Citizen

b) Applicant must be 17 year of age on or before 31st December 2015

c) They should have passed in such qualifying examination from a recognized institution in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English separately and should have obtained atleast 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) taken together

Applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (45% for persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs and 40% for SC/BC) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology (PCB) in 10+2 examination or other equivalent examination of 10+2

Applicant should have passed qualifying examination as under:

a) The higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years education structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education; OR

b) Any other exam which, in scope and standard is set up to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology including a practical test in each of these subjects and English

In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS course, it shall be essential for the Applicant to obtain minimum of 50% marks (45% for persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs and 40% for SC/BC categories) in PMET-2015

The inter-se-merit of Applicants for tie-breaking in PMET shall be determined in the following manner:

a) Applicants obtaining higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the PMET-2015

b) Applicants obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the PMET

c) Applicants with less number of attempted wrong answers in all the subjects in the PMET

d) Applicants older in age

After the declaration of the PMET result, the Applicants will apply on the specific proforma for all seats except All India quota seats to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, (BFUHS), Faridkot. Admission will be made by the selection committee through a centralized counselling by BFUHS, Faridkot on the basis of inter-se merit of PMET - 2015

Children/wards/dependents (whose parents are not alive) of all those Punjab Govt pensioners who have retired on or before 1st January of the year of passing 10+2 exam and have settled outside Punjab on or before 1st January of the year of passing 10+2 exam and their children/wards/dependants were compelled to do class XII outside Punjab

A Applicant who passed his/her 10th and 10+2 examinations or other equivalent examination form a recognized School/Institution situated in Chandigarh Union Territory shall also be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS provided Chandigarh UT administration permits students of Punjab for admission to MBBS/BDS in its Medical/Dental Colleges

Age Limit for Punjab PMET MBBS Entrance Test

Applicants who are going to appear for the Punjab Medical Entrance Test 2015 are required to fulfill the age critieria set by the University

For appearing in this entrance exam Applicant must have attain the age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete the said age on or before 31st December 2015 where as the maximum age limit is 25 years of age as on 31st December 2015

Result not declared: The Applicant, whose result of qualifying exam is not declared till the last date of applying, will have to produce the result of qualifying exam by the time of counselling. Marks obtained in Mathematics in class XII exam shall not be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS courses
