Thursday – 9.30am -12.30pm and 4.30pm – 7.30pm

This class will teach you about the most common types of plumbing fittings and the most common plumbing tools. You will carry out some basic plumbing tasks, using these fittings and tools.

9.30am – 12.30pm Basic Tools

4.30pm – 7.30pm Power Tools

Before starting any home improvement, it's important to understand how to use the tools correctly. This workshop will give you the confidence to correctly use the most basic tools for the workshops that we offer.


Tuesday - Plasterer and Tiler

Tiling

9.30am – 12.30pm

Understand how to estimate and plan the amount of tiles needed for any wall or floor tiling project. Practice the correct method for laying tiles, understanding the tools required for both laying and grouting.

Basic Plastering

4.30pm - 7.30pm

Learn how to repair and make good minor damage and surface imperfections to plastered walls.


Wednesday - Decorator

Wallpapering

9.30am – 12.30pm

Gain the confidence and practice hanging patterned wallpaper and lining the patterns up.

Painting

4.30pm – 7.30pm

Discussion around the products available to prepare walls for decorating. Practice painting and cutting in and applying emulsion including painting pads, paint pods and different quality brushes. Practice the right techniques to ensure you make your gloss look as professional as possible.


Thursday - Plumber

9.30am -12.30pm and 4.30pm – 7.30pm

This class will teach you about the most common types of plumbing fittings and the most common plumbing tools. You will carry out some basic plumbing tasks, using these fittings and tools.


Friday - Joiner

Laminate Flooring

9.30am – 12.30pm

Practice estimating amount of flooring required and underlay. Practice with the correct tools and methods for laying laminate flooring including going around existing features.

Skirting & Architrave

4.30pm – 7.30pm

Practice measuring, cutting and using mitres for skirting boards and architraves. Include going around an alcove to practice internal and external corners.
