The minimum duration of the B.Ed course offered by IGNOU is 2 years & maximum is 4 years.

Eligibility Criteria
The applicant should have Bachelor’s or higher degree from a recognized university, AND

Two years full-time regular teaching experience on temporary/permanent basis as Primary/Graduate/Post-Graduate Teachers in Primary, Secondary/Higher/Senior secondary school recognized by the central or a state government or a union territory are eligible to take admission.

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is designed to develop an understanding of teaching-learning process at secondary and senior-secondary level among student teachers.

It focus on allow student-teachers to reflect critically on viewpoint of education and integrate holistically the theory and practices to facilitate active engagement of learners for knowledge creation.


Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

Eligibility:

Candidates with:

a) At least 50% marks either in Bachelor Degree and/or in Master Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity. Bachelor in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto,
and
b) The following categories are eligible to be students of B.Ed. (ODL):
(i) Trained in-service teachers in elementary education.
(ii) One who has completed a NCTE recognized teacher education programme through face-to-face mode.
The reservation and relaxation of 5% marks in minimum eligibility is provided to SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/PWD candidate as per the rules of the Central Government.
Reservation to Kashmiri Migrants and war widow candidate is provided as per the University Rules.
