The Certified Welder program is a performance-based program. This course has no prerequisite courses or certifications required. Final certification will provide "transferrable" credentials that you may take with you wherever you go.

How to get the American Welding Society (AWS) certifications

To become AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Applicants need to qualify the written exam conducted by the authorized center of AWS.

The written test includes welding fundamentals, a practical exam utilizing inspection tools to work with weld specimens, and an open-book written exam on applying applicant choice of seven welding code books.
