Eligibility for Admission – B.E. / B.Tech Degree Programme

One seeking admission to the first semester of the eight semester B.E. / B.Tech. Degree Programme:

One should have passed the Higher Secondary Exam of (10 +2) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as 3 of the 4 subjects of study under Part-III or any exam of any other University or authority accepted by the Syndicate of Anna University of Technology Chennai as equivalent thereto.

One should have passed the Higher Secondary Exam of Vocational Stream as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Lateral entry admission

(i) One who possess the Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or its equivalent are eligible to apply for admission to 3rd sem of B.E. / B.Tech in the branch corresponding to the branch of study.

(ii) One who possess the Degree in Science (B.Sc.,) (10+2+3 stream) with Mathematics as a subject at the B.Sc. level are eligible to apply for admission to 3rd semester of B.E. / B.Tech.

They need to undergo 2 additional Engineering subject(s) in the 3ed and 4th semesters or 4th and 6th semesters respectively as prescribed by the respective Faculty.

Eligibility for Admission – MBA / MCA Programme

One must hold a Bachelor Degree of any of the recognized Universities in India

Candidates who have Bachelors from any foreign countries are also eligible.

The Bachelor Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of 3 years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

Diploma holders cannot apply to it unless they also possess a Bachelor degree.
