No Automobile Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are different. Mechanical Engineering deals with overall study of production engineering, design engineering, thermal engineering and many other topic. Automobile engineering can be considered as a specific branch which deals with the topics specific to automobile engineering. Mechanical is that branch of engineering which enables study of machine elements. Automobile deals with vehicles of all types, their design, construction and development phases.
