Graduating with a Diploma in Applied Science will set you up to enter the working environment as a lab specialist in innovative work, assembling or quality control.

Outline
The subject areas you will study include:
• Microbiology
• Chemistry
• Communications
• Physics
• Soils
• Botany
• Biology
• Statistics
• Physical resource management

Dates
There are two entry date per year:
• Mid February
• Mid July

Entry

All candidates are required to meet either the standard or temporary section prerequisites as recorded underneath.

Standard Entry
Candidates more than 20 years
All candidates will be considered.

Candidates under 20 years

At least 42 credits at NCEA Level 3 – made up of 14 credits in each of two Approved Subjects with a further 14 credits taken from close to two different spaces or Approved Subjects and;

At least 14 credits at NCEA Level 1 in Mathematics or Pangarau and;

At least 8 credits at NCEA Level 2 in English or Te Reo Maori. Four credits must be in Reading and four credits in Writing or;

No less than 75 Level 2 NCEA credits in a greatest of 4 subjects in one year or;

An EIT Certificate in Science or proportional.
