Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) was established on the 12th of June 1964 through the APAU Act 1963. Its mandate is to train the manpower in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering & Technology and Home Science for the development of the state (Teaching).

It constantly generate and improve technologies for increasing production in Agriculture and for the welfare of rural folk (Research) and assist in dissemination of the improved technologies to the farmers of the state through development departments of Government (Extension).
