AMIE Eligible for Gate

Hi buddy I want to know can one go for GATE exam after AMIE , if yes then plz tell me as I am doing AMIE course and want to do M.tech after it ??

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board

Yes AMIE is recognised by Govt. of India and is valid for IES, UPSC, GATE, IES and Govt Jobs (where Eq. B.Tech degree is also mentioned). An AMIE person can only apply in those Govt exams where Eq. to B.E./B.Tech is written. As AMIE is not equal to B.Tech (it is equivalent. to B.Tech), it can not be compared with regular B.Tech. You are eligible for GATE but many PSUs like BHEL invites graduate engineers with 4 years regular course for its Engineer Trainee post.
