AMIE Approved By AICTE

Is AMIE approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) ? Tell me the recognition of AMIE?

The All India Council for Technical Education AICTE approval does not apply for AMIE (AICTE approval is needed for regular B Tech courses).

However AICTE has approved the eligibility for AMIE Passouts with M.E./M.Tech for Teaching Assignments.



The equivalence of AMIE is approved by Board of Assessment, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, and by The Association of Indian Universities for employment and academic equivalence.

UPSC recognised AMIE.

UGC recommends Sections A & B pass students for postgraduate studies in any Indian University.

Ministry of Education and Social Welfare, Government of Indias acceptance of Sections A and B as equivalent to a bachelors degree in the appropriate field of engineering.

Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad accepts Sections A & B passed students for admission to the Postgraduate Programme.

Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay accepts Sections A & B passed students for admission to the Postgraduate Programme.

Recognition of passing Sections A & B Examinations does not come under the purview of
Distance Education Council

The National Recognition Information Centre of United Kingdom recognised Sections A and B of The Institution of Engineers (India) as comparable to British Bachelor (Honours) degree standard.
