Aligarh Muslim University Malappuram Center was set up by A.M.U. in 2010 engaged by Section 5(2)(C) of the A.M.U. (Alteration) Act,1981 and under Section 12(2) of the University Act. [Act XL 1920 and A.M.U. (Change) Act,1972] .

The classes of the main bunch were begun on 28.02.2011 in a leased building (Al-Hazmi building, Pattambi Road) at Perinthalmanna. The Center, from its beginning offers two scholarly projects viz. B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) and M.B.A and after that additional one all the more course i.e. B.Ed.
