The Department of Geology of Alagappa University was established in 2017 offering high quality PG and Research programmes.

Presently department has intake capacity of 20 and runs the choice basedcredit system of M.Sc. Applied Geology Programme.

The department faculty members specialised in different areas of Geology such as Petrology, Geochemistry, Structural geology, Quaternary Palaeoclimate, Micropaleontology, RemoteSensing and GIS.

M.Sc. Applied Geology - Two years

M.Phil., Geology One year

Ph.D., Geology Three years (Full Time), Five years (Part Time)

Eligibility Criteria -

M.Sc., Applied Geology - Under Graduate degree in Geology

M.Phil., Geology - Post Graduate degree in Applied Geology/ Geology/ Geoinformatics.

Ph.D., Geology - Post Graduate degree in Applied Geology/Geology/Geoinformatics.
