These institutes have been declared by an Act of Parliament as Institutes of National Importance.

About AIIMS Kalyani :

The All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) would begin its functioning in Kalyani by inaugurating the out-patient department in February next year.

About AIIMS medical entrance exam:

This exam is conducted for providing admission to the MBBS programme in AIIMS Institutions. It is a national level entrance test.

Through this exam, candidates can get admission into nine AIIMS Institutions located in New Delhi, Bhopal, Rishikesh, Patna, Jodhpur, Guntur, Nagpur, Raipur & Bhubaneshwar.

The AIIMS Kalyani is a specialized hospital situated in Basantapur, West Bengal. The construction of the All India Institute of Medical Science, AIIMS in Nadia Kalyani was completed within in 24 months.

In the meantime, first-stage work was done to complete the work in December.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences will come up at Kalyani in Nadia within five years from now as the Centre has already cleared the proposal of setting up the hospital and consented to carry out the expenses for the construction of the hospital in West Bengal.
