Re: AICTE CMAT Candidate Qualification

The Common Management Admission Test is a national level entrance examination conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

The CMAT is a three hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness.


Qualification:

The candidates must be a citizen of India.

Candidates must have graduated (10+2+3) from any recognized University in any discipline.
Also, final year pursuing students of their Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) can also apply for the test, provided their final year result will be declared before commencement of admissions.

Age:
No age restriction.

General criteria to seek admission into these courses by CMAT are:

For Management (PGDM, MBA and similar):
Candidates should have a recognized Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum duration of 3 years. Also, they must have secured at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of applicants belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.

For Management (PGCM):
Candidates should have a recognized Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum duration of 3 years.

For Management (Executive PGDM):
Candidates should have a recognized Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum duration of 3 years. Also, they must have secured at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of applicants belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination. In addition to these, such applicants should also have a minimum experience of 5 years (relevant managerial/supervisory experience).

Exam Pattern:

The CMAT MBA Exam is a computer based test.
The questions asked in the exam are objective type and 180 minutes are given to attempt these 100 MCQ’s.
For every correct answer marked, 4 marks will be awarded and 1 mark will be deducted for marking a wrong answer.
