Re: Ahmedabad University Grading System
Ahmedabad University is a private, non-profit university dedicated to offering a liberal education to all its students, based on rigorous inter-disciplinary research and project-based learning. Grading System Based on the performance, each student will be awarded a final letter grade at the end of the semester for each course. T The letter grades and the corresponding grade points are as follows: Grade Range of Percentage According to Grade Grade Point Qualitative Meaning A+ 90-100 4.33 Excellent A 85-<90 4 A- 80-<85 3.67 Very Good B+ 75 -<80 3.33 B 67-<75 3 Good B- 60 -<67 2.67 C+ 55-<60 2.33 Fair C 50 -<55 2 C- 46-<50 1.67 Satisfactory D+ 43 -<46 1.33 D 40 -<43 1 F 0 -<40 0 Fail I - - Incomplete Calculation of Grade Point Average The Grade Point Average (GPA) for each semester and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) for all the semesters are calculated as follows: For each course passed, the grade point is multiplied by the credit for that subject. The total of all such credit earned is calculated. This grand total is divided by the credits earned (passed). The result thus calculated is the semester Grade Point Average. Similarly Cumulative Grade Point Average CGPA is calculated for more than one semester or for the programme. i.e. CGPA= ∑i(CixGP)/∑iCi Where Ci is the credit for the course GP is the grade point earned for that course ∑iCi is the sum of credits of all courses appeared in all semesters including those in which the student has F grade (If it is the case) Contact: Biological and Life Sciences School of Arts and Sciences Ahmedabad University Central Campus Navrangpura, Ahmedabad 380009 Gujarat, INDIA.
