Age Limit of CDS Exam

I want to apply for the CDS Exam .What are the age eligibility required to apply for the Combined Defence Services Examination ?

Union Public Service Commission organizes CDS Exam for recruitment of various vacancies under Indian Naval Academy, Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy.

Eligibility Criteria :

Age Eligibility

(i) For IMA:

Unmarried male applicants must not be less than 18 years and not more than 23 years .



(ii) For Indian Naval Academy:

Unmarried male applicants must not be less than 18 years and not more than 23 years .


(iii) For Air Force Academy:

Unmarried male applicants must not be less than 18 years and not more than 24 years .


(iv) For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Course for Men):

Unmarried male applicants must not be less than 18 years and not more than 24 years .

(iv) For Officers Training Academy (SSC Women Non-Technical Course):

Unmarried Women must not be less than 18 years and not more than 24 years .

Educational Qualification:

(i) For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy:

Applicants must have obtained a degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

(ii) For Indian Naval Academy:

Applicants must have obtained a degree in Engineering from a recognized university.

(iii) For Air Force Academy:

Applicants must have obtained a degree from a recognized University (with Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
