Yes you can become an IAS officer after passing 12th grade , for that you have to firstly pass graduation level degree course in any discipline . after that you can apply for Indian administrative service exam of UPSC. IAS exam details : Eligibility :: You have to passed a Bachelor’s degree from any well recognized university with good marks .. Age - limits: 21-30 years as on 1st August of the year of Examination. Pattern of the examination: Preliminary exam:: It is common for all students and consist of two papers and both are of objective types. Paper 1 : (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs. Paper II: (200 marks) – Duration : Two hrs Main exam:: Essay type Indian Language Qualifying Paper (300 marks) English Qualifying Paper (300 marks) General Essay type paper (200 marks) General Studies (Paper-I&II 300 marks each) Optional subject-I(Paper-I&II 300 marks each) Optional subject-II(Paper-I&II 300 marks each) Syllabus : Syllabus of Paper I -(200 marks) Duration : Two hours Current events of national and international importance. History of India and Indian National Movement. Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic. Geography of India and the World. Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political. System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc. Economic and Social Development-Sustainable. Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social. Sector Initiatives, etc. General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization. Syllabus for Paper II-(200 marks) Duration: Two hours Interpersonal skills including communication skills; Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision making and problem solving General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level) |
