Yes you can apply for Common admission test after passing 12th class examination, but firstly you have to pass graduation level degree in any discipline. Common admission test (CAT) is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) for admission in management colleges are situated in India . Eligibility : You have to passed graduation with minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) Important Dates: Online Registration/Voucher Sale - First week of August to last week of September. Registration Window - First week of August to last week of September. Test Dates - Between second week of October and first week of November Results - First or second week of January of the next year. CAT Exam pattern: Exam pattern: This test will have 2 sections The first section is Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation The second section is Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning. Total time which will be given for the exam will be 140 minutes Syllabus : Section I Quantitative Ability comprising mainly of arithmetic, mensuration, geometry, algebra, trignometry, probablity and calculus etc Arithmetic - number systems, ratio propotions, simplification, averages, ages, time, work, distances etc. Geomtery - triangles and circles Mensuration - areas and volumes Algebra - theory of equations, quadratiic equations, pemutations and combinations, sequence and series etc Trignometry - height and distances Calculus - maxima and minima, functions etc Section II Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency Data Interpretation - line graphs, bar charts, tables, pie diagrams, scatter diagrams and passages on logical ability Data Sufficiency - more stress on quantitative questions mainly numeric, percentages etc Section III Verbal Ability comprising English Grammar, Vocabulary, Proficiency, Usage and Comprehension English Grammar - not many core questions English Vocabulary - no straight synonyms or antonyms but sometimes analogies or pairs in fill in blanks English Proficiency - correction, rearrangement and completion of sentences and paragraphs English Usage - inappropriate usage of words, commonly confused pair of words English Comprehension - around five to six paragraphs with around 1000 words and five to six questions each mainly checking your ability to comprehend with speed. Hi friend CAT examination is conduct by IIM's institutes for admission in MBA courses in college. Common Admission Test (CAT) 12th marks are not criteria to applying in these examination but maintaining good marks is important. In various college on the basis of CAT scores students are short listed for group discussion and interview. if you score well in this exam you can take admission in good college after clearing group discussion and personal interview. List of equivalent qualifications for CAT 2015 Eligibility Criteria were: Eligibility Graduation in any discipline from recognized university At least 50% marks in graduation. Final year student can also apply. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (4 years after 10+2/Post B.Sc./Post Diploma ) or B.E/B. Tech equivalent examinations, of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers India). Any Qualification recognized by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi which is equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree awarded by UGC recognized University/Institutions.
