You are looking for the details regarding the AFCAT Syllabus for the Mechanical Engineering. So I want to tell you that the syllabus is same for the various courses:

I am providing you the syllabus so that it may be helpful for you next year as the dates are over this year and the exam is also had been conducted:

Important Dates were:

Date of Examination (Tentative): 22.02.2015
Start date for Online Application : 06.12.2014
Last date for Online Application: 01.01.2015

The centers for the exam were:

Ambala, Amritsar, Allahabad, Agra, Ahmedabad, Barnala, Bathinda, Bengaluru, Belgaum, Bidar, Bagdogra, Bareilly, Chandigarh, Chabua, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Darbhanga, Gorakhpur, Gwalior, Guwahati, Halwara, Hashimara, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jalandhar, Jammu, Jorhat, Jaipur, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Kalaikunda (Kharagpur), Kochi, Leh, Lucknow, Mumbai, Mohanbari, Mysore, Nal (Bikaner), Nagpur, Ojhar (Nasik),Pathankot, Patna, Pune,Port Blair, Salua (Kharagpur), Srinagar, Suratgarh, Sirsa, Saharanpur, Shillong, Silchar, Sulur (Coimbatore), Thane, Tezpur, Thanjavur, Thiruvananthapuram, Vadodara, Varanasi.

Syllabus:

General Awareness:
History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics , Civics, Basic Sciences, Defence, Art etc.

Verbal Ability in English:
Comprehension, Error Detection, Synonyms, Antonyms, and Testing of Vocabulary, Sentence Completion etc.

Numerical Ability:
Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, and Simple Interest, Profit & Loss

Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test section:
Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.

Paper Pattern:

The Air Force Common Admission Test will consist of 100 questions and each question will be of three marks. So total marks for all questions will be 300. As far as negative marking is concerned, there is one-third negative marking in AFCAT 2015 exam. For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted as panelty.
The AFCAT 2015 paper will consist of four sections:
1. General Awareness

2. Verbal Ability

3. Numerical Ability

4. Reasoning & Military Aptitude Test

There will be Multiply Choice Based Questions of 3 marks each. The candidates will be penalized in the form of deduction of 1 marks for every wrong answers attempted by them.

The duration of AFCAT 2015 Exam will be 2 Hours.
