Air Force Common Admission test arranges by Indian Air Force for selection of Officers in all branches of IAF except Medical and Dental.

AFCAT Exam Exam pattern:
Total marks are 300 i.e 3 marks for each question.
Type of question is MCQs i.e Multiple
Duration of Exam is 2 Hours.
Number of questions are 100 constitues General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning/ Military Aptitude test.
1 mark will be deducted for one wrong answer.

Important Dates:
Date of Notification: 8th June 2014
Start of receipt of applications: 8th June 2014
Last date for the receipt of applications: 7th July 2014
Expected date of result: 3rd week of September 2014
Date of Exam: 31st August 2014

The Air Force Common Admission Test constitutes 100 marks paper containing questions on the following main sections:

1. Verbal Ability

2. General Awareness

3. Numerical Ability

4. Reasoning

5. Aptitude Test

There will be Multiply Choice objective Questions of 3 marks each.
The applicants will be penalized in the form of deduction of 1 marks for every wrong answers

Duration of Exam: 2 Hours

AFCAT will be a 2 hour exam.
The question paper contains 100 questions. For each correct answer 3 marks
1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer

Indian Air Force conducts Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) for candidates to recruit them to Flying, Technical and Ground Duty Officer Branches. Graduates in all streams including B.E, B.Tech, B.Sc, M.Com, CA, and ICWA are eligible to apply for AFCAT.

AFCAT Pattern:-

•The AFCAT Question Paper has 100 questions. All questions are of three marks each.

•For every correct answer there is three marks and for every wrong answer one mark is deducted under negative marking.

•The total time allotted for the paper is two hours.

All applicants whose online applications have been successfully submitted are called for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) (applicable only for candidates applying for technical branch).

EKT is for 45 minutes and conducted immediately after AFCAT.

Candidates who are short listed on the basis of (AFCAT) are called for further testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar or Varanasi.

The testing consist of 3 stages as given below.

(a) Stage-I Test consisting of Intelligence Test along with other tests is conducted on the first day. Stage-I test is a screening test and only those who qualify would undergo subsequent testing. All Stage-I qualified candidates are subjected to document check to ascertain their eligibility for the branches applied for. Those candidates who either do not qualify in Stage I testing or do not meet the required eligibility criteria would be sent back on the first day itself.

(b) Stage-II testing consisting of Psychological test, Group Tests and Interview is conducted on subsequent days (Five Days).

(c) For Flying Branch: Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) would be administered to eligible candidates.
