AFCAT Eligibility
I am pursuing B.Tech (IT) 6th semester. Now I want to give the exam of the AFCAT but I dint know that am I eligible or not? So will you please tell me what the eligibility is for AFCAT for 6th semester B.Tech (IT) student?

AFCAT is Air Force Common Admission Test. It is a common recruitment exam which is conducted by IAF (Indian Air Force) for all the three branches - Flying Branch, Technical Branch and Ground Duty Branch. It is conducted two times in a year in the months of December/January and June/July. Eligibility 1) Flying Branch: Age should be 19 to 23 years, and you should have three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized university with 60% marks Also note that you should have some physical standards as well like your minimum height shall be 162.5 cms with correlated weight and leg length in the range of 99 cms (minimum) 2) Technical Branch: Age should be in between 18 to 28 years, and you should have a four year degree with minimum 60% marks, they need two specific type of engineers for this a) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) b) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) One physical standard is must i.e. height should be 157.5 Cms with corrected weight 3) Now for Ground Duty they have four separate branches: a) Administration and Logistics : for this you should be Graduate in any discipline with 60% marks b) Accounts : Graduate degree in commerce c) Meteorology : Post Graduate in any science stream d) Education : Post Graduate in any discipline with minimum 60% marks As you said that you are in 6th semester of B.Tech so you can only apply for the Flying branch through UES. For other branches a candidate should be graduate in any discipline. Syllabus The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. All questions will be of three marks each. For every correct answer the candidate will get three marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted under negative marking. The total time allotted for the paper is two hours. Each Question Paper will have questions from the following topics: General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability. |
