I want the admission in VNIT Nagpur for B.Tech so can you tell me that what is the selection procedure to take admission in VNIT Nagpur and what is the eligibility and criteria for admission in B.Tech please provide me all admission details?

The VNIT (Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology) Nagpur offers 4 year undergraduate programs in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering and 5 year course in Architecture. In addition, it offers full time M. Tech, and Ph. D. programs.

The laboratories in various departments have excellent research and testing facilities. It has acquired highly sophisticated equipment for various Departments and new equipment has been added to various laboratories in the recent years.

It was selected as a lead institute in World Bank Project under Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP-I & II). Currently, it is executing Third phase of the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP-III).

Eligibility Criteria 2018


One should have passed qualifying degree with 6.5 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) or 60% for OC/OBC category, and 6.0 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) or 55% for SC/ST/PWD category. This CGPA/Percentage should be awarded by University/Institute.

The Percentage or CGPA based on aggregate of all semesters should also be equal or more than the eligibility mentioned in b) above.

One must have minimum 2 years of full time work experience (as on 1st June, 2018) in relevant field in which admission is being sought, after attaining the qualifying degree/certificate, in a registered firm/company/industry/ educational and/or research institute/any Government Department or Government Autonomous organization. The candidate must submit the sponsorship cum experience certificate in the prescribed format (as given in Annexure-IV) along with the application form.

Group S2 candidates must have a valid GATE score in 2016 or 2017 or 2018. It should be noted that except for Group-S1, Non-GATE candidates (i.e. one with GATE marks below cut off or who did not appear for GATE) is not eligible for admission to M. Tech. programs at VNIT, Nagpur.
1. One falling under sponsored category will have priority order as: 1. Group-S1, 2. Group-S2
2. In case the number of eligible candidates applying for sponsored seats exceeds the number of seats, the inter-se merit within category Group-S1 or Group-S2 will be decided in the priority order:
Valid GATE Score (Candidates with GATE Score will have first priority).
For candidates with same GATE score, inter se merit will be decided as per CCMT 2018 criteria.
