NCBS is a premier research institute with all the necessary facilities that a research scientist may need. Research interests of its faculty members lie in the frontier areas of biology, and the science at NCBS uses experimental and computational approaches in the study of molecules, cells and organisms.

The work showing rapid, parallel adaptation in Methylobacterium extorquens is now out online on the MBE website. The work represents a huge team effort from members of my former postdoctoral lab and my current lab at NCBS- Mrudula, Kruttika, Gaurav and Alefiyah.

The lab is provides research area:

Understanding how bacterial genomes evolve
Connecting the ecology, evolution and behaviour of flour beetles
Exploring insect gut microbial communities
