You are asking for the Acara Institute Challenge. Acara institute provide many courses, culminating with the Acara Challenge competition. Here I am providing you the some key entry routes leading into the Acara Challenge social venture plan competition. These challenges include:
The candidate need to take CE 5571 Design for Sustainable Development: Innovate (PA 5290 / ARCH 5550). This course is offered in Fall and Spring semesters.

The candidate need to take CE 5572 Design for Sustainable Development: Create 1 (PA 5290 / ARCH 5550). This course is offered in January term.
Here I am mentioned some objectives of the Acara Challenge include:
In this the applicant will experience a real world situation. The applicants will also able to seek solutions to a problem and solutions provided by applicants are creative, sustainable, and have real impact. There will be collaboration available outside the regular course. The Program structure follow them will reflect some major problems require teamwork, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The judging criteria for Acara Challenge are as follows
1. Problem and Solution Description: in this the judgment is based on the
What is the solution? How does it address the problem?
2. Market description: it is depends on tow things
How the teams identify the market segments? How they assess the parameters of the segment like needs, size, purchasing capacity, etc.?
3. Sustainable business model:
What is the business model? How does it solve the market’s requirement? Is it sustainable?

Hey as Acara is the impact entrepreneurship program of the University of Minnesota Institute on the Environment

Eligibility


The competition is open to current degree-seeking University of Minnesota students (undergrad, grad, professional) from all system campuses.

Any team with a business idea or operational early stage business that addresses a grand challenge issue with a for-profit or not-for-profit organization may participate.

Awards

Acara Challenge cash awards up to $1,000 per team.

Invitation to apply for an Acara Venture Fellowship up to $5,000 per team.

Scholarship for the 2016 Acara Spring Institute venture design workshop series.

Important dates

January 22, 2016, 5pm CST. Initial entry deadline

January 29, 2016. Finalists announced.

February 2, 2016, 6-8pm. Information session

February 12, 2016, 5pm CST. Final plans due.

February 19, 2016, 5pm CST. Final 10-minute and 2-minute pitch decks due.

February 22-26, 2016. Required one on one practice session with Acara.

March 3, 2016. Acara Challenge Finals: 8am-4pm at McNamara Alumni Center on the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus. Acara Challenge Public Reception and Award Ceremony: 5:30-8:30pm.

Late March 2016: Winning Acara Challenge teams invited to apply for Acara Venture Fellowship.
