The Academy of Medical Royal College was established in 1974.

Obesity Steering Group was Chaired by Professor Terence Stephenson.

The Academy Obesity Steering Group has been established to carry out a project on tackling obesity.

The Steering Group membership consists of:
Royal Colleges and Faculties
Member of the Academy Intercollegiate Group on Nutrition.

Responsibilities
Produce a strategy on the most effective and coherent way to tackle obesity
Produce a recommendation report to form part of a wider Obesity campaign in the first quarter of 2013.

In February 2013 the Obesity Steering Group published a report of its findings with a parliamentary launch to take place on 25 February 2013.
