JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination it is an all India common engineering entrance examination which is conducted for admission in various engineering colleges and courses all over the country. As you are asking for the details about JEE Mains so here I am providing you the details below. JEE Main Eligibility Criteria: 1. Pass Percentage in Qualifying Examination: • Applicants must have studied Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects • Applicants have studied any one of the subjects as optional subjects (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) • They must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in total including all subjects 2. Date of Birth: • Applicants must be born on or after October 1, 1990 to be considered for the JEE Main. • SC/ST/PWD Applicants will have a relaxation of the upper age limit by 5 years. • SC/ST/PWD Applicants must be born on or after October 1, 1985. 2. Year of Passing Qualifying Examination (QE): • Applicants should have passed their Class XII examination or other qualifying examination in the year 2013 or 2014. OR • Applicants who are appearing for their Class XII examination in 2015 are eligible • Applicants should have studied at least five subjects in their Class XII or other qualifying exam. • Applicants who have studied four subjects are NOT eligible. Clarifications: Applicants will be appropriate as per the year they have first written the 10+2 examination for Ex. Applicants who have appeared for the first time in 2012 and failed but have passed in 2013 are NOT eligible. 3. Number of Allowed attempts: • A maximum number of three attempts will be allowed per Applicant provide the other eligibility criteria are fulfilled by the candidates List of Qualifying Exams that are considered for JEE Main 2015: 1. The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized central/ state Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc. 2. Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University. 3. Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy. 4. H.S.C. vocational examination. 5. Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National 6. Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects. 7. A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3 year duration. 8. Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). 9. General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level. [Only for Admission to IITs] 10. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
