According the data from ministry of communication and information technology, the ITES-BPO industry has developed by about 54 per cent with export earnings of US$ 3.6 billion during 2003-04
India has turned out to be a favorite destination for IT linked industries, as there are enough of well trained and motivated people available in India.
“Over the years, significant changes in the EXIM policy have helped to strengthen the export production base by removing procedural bottlenecks, facilitating input accessibility and upgrading technological progresses. Policy-makers have realized that there is no choice but to give a thrust to the export sector. For this purpose, the Ministry of Commerce has identified 14 thrust products for giving special attention by furnishing a policy framework to increase exports.
