DTERT Tamilnadu

The Directorate of Teacher Education Research and Training (DTERT) were organized in 1990. Initially it was the State Institute of Education in 1965 and then deader upgraded to State Council of Education Research and Training in 1970. This State Council of Education Research and Training was called as the Directorate of Teacher Education Research and Training in the year 1990. The intention of this Directorate was to identify the problems in the education system and to provide a solution to them.

Activities of DTERT
The Diploma in Teacher Education course was altered by the Directorate of Teacher Education Research and Training by revising the syllabus for the same. The school dropouts and the early childhood education were regarded for action by the Directorate for the first time. School teachers were given skill programs in Computers.
