The Disaster Management Institute Bhopal launched by the MP government in the backdrop of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, provides training, research and consultancy services on subjects linked to prevention, mitigation and management of disasters.

An independent institution under Housing and Environment Deptt., Govt. of M. P. and the guiding organizations in the country, which has attained substantial believability in imparting professional training and guiding consultancy services on natural and man-made disasters management. . It organizes training for working managers and government officials linking to the fields of management of natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, drought, famine and cyclones; on-site and off-site emergency planning; risk analysis; identification of major hazards; etc.
