Introduction
The Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibers (CRIJAF) is one of the prime institutes for research on jute allied fibers. India, in the global market is considered as one of the most effective exporters of jute. The amount of jute that India used to export throughout 60’s, just within 30 years, that amount was doubled accordant to enhancing requirement of global market.
This amazing achievement was potential merely due to sincere attempts of CRIJAF scientists, as they made several phenomenal experiments in various subjects like, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Agronomy, Plant Physiology, Soils, Pathology, Entomology, Extension and other linked fields of cultivation.
