Introduction
The Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA) is a prime research institute on freshwater aquaculture in India. The Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture has a specialized library to serve the various subjects of freshwater aquaculture. The library has a collection of more than 2000 volumes of books associated to aquaculture. The constant upgradation of knowledge is done by subscribing to 20 abroad journals and 40 Indian journals. The central office of the Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture has a sprawling campus with a field of 147 ha. CIFA is housed in a three-storeyed building up with laboratory installations for dissimilar specializations in carps, catfish, prawn and pearl mussel, fish breeding and culture, fish genetics, fish nutrition, fish physiology, soil and water chemistry, aquatic microbiology, weed management, fish pathology and aquaculture engineering.
