The job of the Pharmacists is to develop, mix, compound or dispense drugs and medicines, ointments, powder, pills, tablets and injections on the prescription of a medical practitioner, dentist or veterinarian. In detail, they are concerned with production of pharmaceutical products, growth of the methodologies or processes of production and caliber control. There are over 225 programs in Pharmacy carried on by dissimilar universities in India; one of the main programs is the `Bachelor of Pharmacy`, which is a four-year comprehensive course.

After the closing of BPharma, an individual can both pursue a course in M.Pharma (Masters in Pharmacy) and later on do PHD in Pharmacy.
