About the institute
The Army Institute of Management (at one time, National Institute of Management Calcutta) (NIMC) was founded on 28 July 1997 by the Indian Army below the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), New Delhi, to guide state-of-art Management Programme for the wards of Army personnel with an chance for the general student as well. The eco-friendly campus is spreaded over nine acres of country at Alipore, in the heart of the City of Joy. Name of the Institute has been changed to Army Institute of Management, Kolkata with effect from 11 Feb 2005
