AFMC (Armed Forces Medical College) Pune is one of the prime medical colleges in India. AFMC was found in 1948. The college was initially housed in Eve’s Estate and later moved to Connaught Barracks, the present location. Armed Forces Medical College does multiple roles. These add training of medical undergraduates and post-graduates, dental postgraduates, nursing cadets and paramedical staff extending the full pool of experts and super experts to Armed Forces; offering high quality professional medical care to Armed Forces and carrying on research in several medical subjects as well as those views which would affect the morale and performance of the Armed Forces both in war and peace.
